M Wagner produces noisy techno music that references 3 of my absolute favorite electronic artists: The Field, Vladislov Delay and Wolfgang Voight - all of which have records that fall into the pantheon of GOATS. “Release Yourself” is described as a “nomadic diary of personal experiences, with atmospheres and ambience captured via field recordings and then manipulated and augmented by Matthew Wagner”. It’s all there. The emotion, mangled samples, driving house beat, destroyed ending. Lovely work.
