James Heather - "Ancestral Future (KMRU Rework)"

“Pulse Music” pianist James Heather has handpicked a selection of artists, bands, ensembles and composers to rework 11 tracks taken from his album ‘Invisible Forces’ and two ‘Modulations’ EPs. The new versions place Heather’s instinctual, resonant piano playing with sounds and instruments drawn from ambient, classical, electronic, jazz and rock to refocus the original compositions in a new light.”

The first composition from this project which includes Coldcut and Nailah Hunter to name a few, is “Ancestral Future” reworked by the KMRU - a collaboration that we are utterly thrilled with. Taking Heather’s piano work and stretching it across these sustained tones and agitated electronics, “Ancestral Future” is given a new hue of dark blues and purples. Absolutely lovely work here.
