Chicago-based experimental artist William Sanford describes “American Dada (Election Year)” as “absurdist, dadaist, weird and aggressive”. Hell yeah. The result is a strangely submerged composition that ties together heavy auto-tune, distorted vocal samples, delay heavy percussion and Memphis style triplet hi-hats and totally fried synth leads. A murky, drugged out composition whose relationship to the American political landscape is one of continual bafflement at the grotesque pageantry of an election cycle.
