The way we hear something a loved one says conveys layers upon layers of unconsciously heard sound. A tiny lilt up, a catching unsteadiness, all of these are logged in areas of our mind we don’t have ready access to. “Tilda’s Theme” by Vayron understands this deeply. All of the synths on this track were synthesized by a phrase by a person the French artist loved. In it we hear deep, buzzing synth phrasings, crisp beats and intricate percussive patterns that represent some of the best in modern IDM. Lovely work that is heartfelt and melancholy.
