Even though “With Hands Bound” by the Buffalo, NY post-rock band eventually peaks into that sell-all crescendo that personifies the genre, there is a synth in the beginning quarter of the track that has been rattling around in my head since I’ve heard it. It sets the stage for the mournful, yet stubbornly hopeful mood that permeates “With Hands Bound”. Even when the track hurtles into peak after peak of post-rock intensity, it does so with a throat full of resolve and eyes just starting to water. Fans of This Will Destroy You should take note.
