The joy found in cellist and composer Mike Block’s “Iniche Cosebe” is palpable. “Iniche Cosebe,” features famed Malian balafonist, Balla Kouyaté. “Iniche Cosebe,” which translates to “thank you very much,” in the language of the Mandinka Tribe, is inspired by traditional music from West Africa, featuring Kouyaté, Sidy Maiga on djembe, Indrissa Kone on talking drum + kalabash, and Yacouba Diabate on the kora. The result is a rousing and deeply felt composition where the camaraderie felt in the room translates through the headphones. Some truly virtuoso playing here and an excellent exchange of ideas.
