The Greek artist Thanos Christodoulou aka Lumiere continues his streak of incredibly engaging rhythmic work for the video and composition for “Acrophobia”. “Acrophobia” comes midway through the Phases run time, and showcases the stylistic depth found throughout the album. Minimal, Philip Glass-esque arpeggios give way to a full orchestral accompaniment that is carried through by his distinct, rhythmic drumming rooted in jazz. Paired with melting ice that, at such a granular detail, looks like galaxies imploding in on themselves, “Acrophobia” is a perfect mini vacation from an overwhelming present.
