The lead track off of Canadian composer Joshua Van Tassel’s “Dance Music volume II:  More Songs for Slow Motion” gets a visual accompaniment. A gorgeous, early morning time-lapse recording the interplay of light against white sheets – movement caused by something unseen rippling across our visual frame. An absolutely stunning track, “Muttering Spells” is all upwards lift. A whale-song drone being matched by ever-ascending strings. Wonderful to see new work from this intriguing but accessible (in the best sense) musician.
