“Enjoy Your Worries” by Heath describes a Covid emotional state that is probably much more truthful than the polarities that often come with creativity under Covid. Instead “Enjoy Your Worries” allows a gentle guitar melody, deep piano chords, sustain tones and processed field recordings to glide atop a pensive, anxious tonal center that only manages to make itself known hiding in the corners. As Heath puts it this record was created in lockdown, “exploring a suspended sense of self that is evoked with online escapism and disassociation. This album conveys the expansive emotions that come with longing and mourning while also trying to stay present and appreciative.” We hear both emotions at play here, not exactly in competition but not exactly best friends. Lovely work.
