On “Thread” the Austin, TX based electronic artist creates a study in muted tension and release. The melodic phrasing of DSTRY’s synths seem to move as an entire unit, shifting entire aural fields in key, creating a pleasantly disorienting effect. Below this superstructure is an entire kitchen-sink’s worth of complex rhythm with splashes of a sturdy bass riff keeping everything corralled while subdued vocals soar and thrum over top.  Recommended if you are into acts like Styrofoam or the One AM Radio.
