I am not sure how many of these we will hear this year, but I hope the “I decided to make music during quarantine” output is even half as good by this debut from the Cape Town, South Africa based Adamastor. Drawing a line somewhere between acts like Jesu, Midwife with the electronic programming of artists like The Album Leaf or Arms & Sleepers, Adamstor weaves her airy thin vocals through thick waves of distorted guitars and synths to create a lovely heavy / ambient contrast that demands repeated listens.
